The person behind 14OhFour

Fifteen years working with law firms. Nine years inside them.

I help firms turn AI from a vague priority into a clear plan or a usable, tested capability.

A practical point of view

I know what happens after the strategy deck.

I have spent fifteen years working with law firms and nine years inside them. I have seen the ambition in a leadership conversation, the questions that appear when an idea meets a real workflow, and the quiet loss of momentum when nobody owns the next step.

I have also built Capchuur and EnquiryFlow Legal — legal products that had to move from an idea to something people could actually use. That matters here because Legal AI is not a thought exercise. It has to meet a firm's knowledge, its people and the way decisions get made.

I am focused on Legal AI now because firms are already testing tools, running pilots and trying to work out what comes next. The useful question is practical: where should a firm start, what should it leave alone, and how does a team get something consistent enough to use?

That is where 14OhFour sits: independent advice and contained builds, grounded in the firm's real work. There is no platform to sell. The work is to make the next decision clearer, then build only what has a clear reason to exist.

The working principles

What we believe.

The useful work is rarely about finding the loudest new tool. It is about giving a firm a clear basis for deciding what happens next.

  1. 01

    Start with the work.

The right place to begin is the task, the people around it and the decision that needs to be made.

  2. 02

    Make the trade-offs visible.

A shared basis for value, feasibility, risk and readiness is more useful than a list of tools.

  3. 03

    Test against reality.

Useful things are tried against real examples, challenged by the people who will use them and improved before handover.

  4. 04

    Keep ownership inside the firm.

A clear owner and a proper handover matter as much as the plan or the build.

A practical approach

Clear advice. Useful progress.

We work with your team to test what could make a meaningful difference, talk through the trade-offs and agree a sensible next step. The aim is progress you can build on.
